KABC Rising Senior Teams Announced - Butler's Woodcock and Jenkins to participate

The KABC (KY Association of Basketball Coaches) would like to announce the members of the 2013 3rd Region Rising Senior team. Butler County seniors Zeke Woodcock and Trevor Jenkins have been chosen to play in the game. The duo will be joining top players from the 3rd Region. This team will represent the 3rd Region in 1st Annual Rising Senior game to be held at Apollo High School July 13th at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $5. Tim Taylor will be the head coach and he will be assisted by Willis McClure.

In other basketball news, the KABC also announced members of the 1st Annual KABC Ky Rising Sr Team. This team will represent Kentucky in the first ever NHSBCA(National High School Basketball Coaches Association) Rising Sr Event to be held July 14-16 at Marian University in Indianapolis, IN.

This unique event will feature teams from Kentucky, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Illinois. The event officially kicks off with opening ceremonies Sunday, July 14th at 6:00 p.m. and concludes at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 16th. During these three days participants will take part in skills competitions, a round-robin tournament and exposure to special speakers between sessions.

The team will begin preparation for this event at a mini-camp held at Kentucky Wesleyan College. The mini-camp will feature a preliminary game vs. the 3rd Region Rising Seniors to be held at Apollo High School on July 13th at 7:00 p.m.

Gary Forrest, formerly head coach of Oldham County, will be the head coach. He will be assisted by Daniel Viehmann.
