Jared Hudnall awarded Eagle Scout Rank
Morgantown Troop 208 had a very busy weekend. They went Boondoggle Camping, which is no running water, no electricity, and no heating in the tents on a weekend that saw below freezing temperatures. They drove into Morgantown and marched in the Veterans Parade and Sunday afternoon met at the First Baptist Church to celebrate Jared officially receiving his rank of Eagle Scout.
His proud parents Jeremy and Leeann, brothers Justin and Landon, along with fellow Scouts, family, and friends all congratulated Jared on an achievement that only ten percent of Scouts on the national level achieve.
Justin, Jared's older brother became an Eagle Scout four years ago and told the audience some of the history of becoming an Eagle Scout. Landon the youngest brother is at Bear Rank in the Cub Scouts.
Last April, Jared completed his Eagle Project, a Dog Obstacle Course at the Friends of Butler County Animal Shelter. Scoutmaster, Kyle Coleman, has been the leader for five years but he has helped this group of Scouts since they were in the first grade. He has seen firsthand how they have matured and helped their community over the years.
To become an Eagle Scout, you must complete a minimum of twenty-one Merit Badges. Jared has forty-one, some of his favorites were Sailing, Wilderness Survival, and Basketry. He is a Senior at Butler County High School, member of the Marching Band, and is active with 4-H at the Butler County Extension Office.
Eagle Scout Pastor, Derek Cain, was present to welcome Jared into an elite group.
