Ivan Parker, Crossmen Sing for Heaven's Sake

Joy

The Butler County Education Preservation Society works hard to achieve their goal of preserving our county’s history. Toward that end, a fundraising concert featuring Ivan Parker and the Crossmen was held Friday night at the Morgantown Community Church.

The audience was treated to two sets each. Midway through his first set, Parker, whose path crossed with the Crossmen years ago in Waycross, Georgia introduced and sang a Jake Hess number from a time he and Hess appeared with the Bill Gaither Homecoming series. The Crossmen joined him for the finale.

Parker remembers Jake Hess in story and song

The audience reaction clearly said thank you to the Crossmen and for Parker to come back anytime. The event was sponsored by Beechtree News, Judge Executive David Fields, Representative C. B. Embry, Drakes Farm Service, Chad’s Wrecker Service, Hocker Insurance, Granville Allen VFW Post 538 and its Ladies Auxiliary.
