Butler County Extension is pleased to announce the hiring of Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, Leah VanMeter Cardwell.

Her background is in nutrition as a Registered Dietitian and she was a graduate of WKU. She began her Extension career in McCreary County, where she was the Extension FCS/4-H agent for 3 1/2 years.

Leah and her husband have been married for 4 years and have twin baby girls, who are 9 months old.

Leah states, “I have a passion for nutrition, but even more so, my passion is to help families and individuals grow and thrive, and to provide information on ways families and individuals can be healthier, both physically and mentally. I am looking forward to building relationships within the county and working with each one of you as the Butler County FCS agent. One of the best parts of Extension is getting to work collaboratively with the community to provide education and resources that can make a difference in the lives of so many people.
