Injury Collision on the Natcher Parkway Involving an Overturned Crane Truck

The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to a single vehicle injury collision today at approx. 8:34 pm near the 6 mile marker on the William Natcher Parkway in Warren County.

The preliminary investigation indicated that Patrick Wood (41) of Frisco, IN was operating a commercial crane truck and was traveling southbound on the William Natcher Parkway when the left front tire blew out causing the operator to lose control and go into the median.  The truck then overturned in the median onto the driver's side partially blocking the left northbound lane.  The fuel tank was ruptured in the collision and several gallons of diesel fuel was spilled.  The driver was also pinned in the vehicle but was freed by Sergeant Chad Winn and two civilians, who were first present on the scene.

Mr. Wood was transported by the Medical Center EMS to the Medical Center in Bowling Green for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by Trooper Jason Adkison.  He was assisted on the scene by Sergeant Chad Winn, Troopers Storm Stevens and Briston Smith, KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Roy Murley, Warren County Emergency Management, Medical Center EMS, and the Woodburn Fire Department.
