HS VOLLEYBALL: Butler County drops district match to Whitesville Trinity

WHITESVILLE — Butler County was limited offensively as Whitesville Trinity pulled away to win 3-0 in a 12th District volleyball match at the Horn Center on Thursday, Sept. 5.

Whitesville Trinity defeated Butler County 25-16, 25-7, 25-13.

Emmie Hawkins (1 kill, 1 assist, 2 digs, 1 service ace), Megan Clark (2 kills, 1 dig, 1 service ace), Samantha Johnson (2 kills, 4 assists, 4 digs), Madison Jones (1 kill), Makenna Blanchard (1 kills, 2 digs), Evan Martin (2 kills, 1 assist, 3 digs), Miley Franzell (2 kills, 10 digs), Elivia Heard (1 dig, 1 service ace), Jenelle Kimmel (1 kill, 1 assist) and Isabella-Marie Kelley (2 digs) each contributed for Butler County during the district match.

Butler County is scheduled to host Barren County for a non-district match at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9

Lady Bears claim first win MORGANTOWN — Butler County outlasted visiting Foundation Christian Academy 2-1 on Tuesday, Aug. 27, claiming its first win in the 2024 high school volleyball season. Following the win, Butler County improved to 1-4. Megan Clark (6 kills, 1 assist, 2 digs), Samantha Johnson (4 kills, 9 assists, 8 digs, 3 service aces), Madison Jones (1 kill, 3 digs), Isabella-Marie Kelley (1 assist, 10 digs, 2 service aces), Jenelle Kimmel (3 kills, 2 blocks, 2 assists, 1 dig), Elivia Heard (1 dig), Miley Franzell (6 kills, 1 assist, 11 digs, 5 service aces), Makenna Blanchard (4 digs), Hadlee Renfrow (1 kill, 1 assist, 1 dig) and Paisley Johnson each contributed to Butler County's win.
