MORGANTOWN — Brandon Embry has stepped down from his position as the head coach of the Butler County football program.

Embry spent six years as Butler County head coach, guiding the Bears on the gridiron for over one-half of a decade.

"I would just like to thank Butler County Schools for the opportunity to coach here for the last 19 years.  It has been a great time in my life with many lifelong memories being made," said Embry.  "Stepping down was a tough decision but often times in life priorities shift.  I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to lead the program for the last 6 years.  Thank you to all the players, parents and the community for all the support during my time coaching."

Despite leaving the gridiron, Embry will remain athletic director for Butler County High School.

Following Embry's departure from the program, Butler County officials will be searching for a new coach to guide the Bears on the gridiron in the 2024 high school football season.
