HS FOOTBALL: Bears to visit Ohio County for regular season finale

MORGANTOWN — Butler County is scheduled to visit Ohio County for its final game in the 2022 high school football season on Friday, Oct. 28.

The Bears, under the direction of Coach Brandon Embry, have claimed back-to-back wins.

Butler County is 7-2. The Bears have posted wins over Russellville, Edmonson County, Breckinridge County, Grayson County, McLean County, Todd County Central and Clinton County. Butler County has dropped games to Hancock County and Owensboro Catholic. 

Through nine games, Butler County has outscored opponents 277-128.

The Bears are averaging 240.1 yards and 3.6 touchdowns on the ground per game. A member of Class 2A, District 2, Butler County has rushed 288 times for 2,161 yards and 32 touchdowns in nine games. 

Ohio County is 3-6. The Eagles have posted wins over Muhlenberg County, Marion County and Breckinridge County. Ohio County has dropped games to McLean County, Warren East, Hancock County, Owensboro, Graves County and Grayson County.

Opponents have outscored the Eagles 313-186.

The Eagles are averaging 160.8 yards and 2.1 touchdowns per game on the ground. A member of Class 5A, District 1, Ohio County has rushed 259 times for 1,447 yards and 19 touchdowns in nine games.

The Bears and Eagles are longtime rivals. Butler County pulled away to defeat Ohio County 48-12 in 2021. 

 

Kickoff for the Butler County-Ohio County game is set for 7 p.m. in Hartford. The game will be broadcast live on WLBQ 101.5 FM.
