HS FOOTBALL: Bears to visit Adair County for district game

MORGANTOWN — Butler County is set to visit Adair County for a Class 3A, District 2 game on Friday, Oct. 13.

The Bears are fresh off a bye week. Class 3A, District 2 member Butler County was open the week of Friday, Oct. 6. 

Butler County is 1-6 overall and 0-2 in Class 3A, District 2. The Bears defeated Russellville in a season opener but are currently on a six-game losing skid.

Butler County has dropped six straight games to Webster County, Warren Central, Grayson County, Hart County, Franklin-Simpson and Bethlehem.

Adair County is 4-3 overall and 0-3 in Class 3A, District 2. The Indians have notched wins over Russell County, Bethlehem, LaRue County and Monroe County. 

Adair County has suffered losses to Franklin-Simpson, Glasgow and Hart County.

Butler County and Adair County did not meet during the 2022 high school football season. However, Butler County and Adair County have met on the gridiron five times in the last 25 years. Butler County claimed four consecutive wins over Adair County from 2007-2010. 

Butler County has regular season games remaining versus Adair County, Glasgow and Ohio County. 

 

Kickoff for the Butler County-Adair County matchup is set for 7 p.m. in Columbia. The game will be live on WLBQ 101.5 FM. Adair County will not allow visiting teams to video stream the game.
