HS FOOTBALL: Bears limited in loss to Grayson County

LEITCHFIELD — Butler County was limited offensively as Grayson County pulled away to win 40-6 in a non-district game on Friday, Sept. 8. 

As a result of the loss, Butler County dropped to 1-3.

Grayson County improved to 3-1 after notching the win.

Homestanding Grayson County scored first and never trailed. The Cougars outscored Butler County 14-0 in the first quarter. 

Grayson County led 20-6 at halftime and continued to control the non-district matchup throughout the second half.

Extending its lead, Grayson County led 25-6 at the conclusion of the third quarter. 

Kadin Hanshaw delivered four rushing touchdowns to lead Grayson County to the win. 

Contributing on the ground for Grayson County, Kolby Chaffins added one rushing touchdown.

Finding the endzone through the air for Grayson County, Chaffins completed a touchdown pass to Jeren VanMeter. 

Gage Beasley rushed for Butler County's lone touchdown. Beasley scored on a 30-yard run with 1:09 remaining in the first half. 

Butler County (1-3) is scheduled to visit unbeaten Hart County (4-0) for its Class 3A, District 2 opener on Friday, Sept. 15.
