HS BASKETBALL: Butler-Grayson to battle tonight

The Butler County Bears travel to Grayson Co. HS Friday, Jan. 31st for not only a key 12th district battle but a Region 3 battle. The Cougars and Bears are two of the top ranked teams in Region 3. The Cougars have a 15-5 overall record on the season to date.

The Grayson Co. Cougars are led by a trio sensation Jack Logsdon, Spencer

Langdon, and Brody Armstrong. averaging 19, 17, 16 points per game respectively. The

trio also brings size and playing time experience; Logsdon 6-6, Langdon 6-2, and

Armstrong 6-0. Last year these (3) led the Cougars in scoring but #24 Jack Logsdon is the key. To date, #24 Logsdon leads the Cougars in scoring overall, 3pt shots made, and free throws made. The Cougars also control the tempo, holding opponents to 56 points per game through 20 games. The Bears average 76 points per game; so as always, the Bears want to run and play up tempo. The Cougars game plan is to slow the tempo, turn the game into a halfcourt game, not allowing the Bears to run in transition.

The games are this Friday, Jan. 31 st , on the road at Grayson Co. HS. The early game will see the Lady Bears take on the Lady Cougars with a 6 p.m. tipoff to be followed by the Bears-Cougars which is set to tipoff at 7:45 tentatively.
