Houchens Industries Supports Stuff the Bus

Houchens Industries will be teaming up with the Stuff the Bus Foundation for a second year by participating in an in-store donation collection program from July 7 - 20.

Houchens Industries and participating stores will take part in the Summer of Giving Program by selling Stuff the Bus Mobile Tear-Offs to customers for $1.00 each. All ticket sales will stay in the county they were sold and will go directly to families and children in that community. Participating stores will include Crossroads IGA, Price Less IGA, IGA Express and select Shell locations in eight surrounding counties. These counties include Butler County as well as Barren, Edmonson, Grayson, Hart, Logan, Simpson and Warren counties.

Houchens Industries has been a proud supporter of the Stuff the Bus Program since their inception in 2005 and recently formed a partnership with them in 2018. Their goal is to give back the communities and provide supplies that are necessary for school to those in need.

“Making sure that EVERY child starts on the first day of school on equal ground with all their classmates is crucial for their success. We are honored to have the chance to help make this a reality,” said Alan Larson of Houchens Industries.

All locations will also have Stuff the Bus Donation Bins for customers to drop-off school supplies and non-perishable food items for those in their community.

The Stuff the Bus Live Event and supply drive will take place on July 27 at Bluegrass Cellular on Campbell Lane.

“We are honored to partner with Houchens again this year,” said Stephanie Austin, of the Stuff the Bus Foundation. “We encourage all the amazing customers who make shopping at their local Houchens Industries location part of their week to take part and know that their Summer of Giving donation is going back 100% to local kids in need.”

Stuff the Bus Foundation will be on Facebook Live at 2pm for a special launch of the program at the Crossroads IGA location on Three Springs Road in Bowling Green, Ky on Sunday July 7.

Butler County’s local IGA is located at 1242 S Main St. in Morgantown, Kentucky.
