Hood's Market Spirit Pump

Kelsey Hood Lee - Hood’s Market Manager as she presents a check to Ryan Emmick - Director of School Safety

Hood’s Market is happy to present the first check from the Spirit Pumps. The Spirit Pumps are pump number 1 and 2.  One cent from every gallon sold at the Spirit Pumps is donated to the Butler County School System, specified for school safety. The first few donations will help support putting a new camera system into the Butler County High School.

The camera system will replace an old, grainy style system with a new HD style system from Sonitrol. It will replace every camera in the school both inside and out, and add new cameras facing the rear of the school toward the football field. This added layer of security will allow the user to record, pause, and zoom in on the video as situations warrant. This will aid not only in security but in contact tracing for Covid protocol as dictated by the Barren River Health Dept. An additional feature is this system will allow for remote viewing and access of features allowing our local Sheriff Department, City Police, and State Troopers access should the need arise.

From November 2019 - June 2020 the spirit pumps resulted in a check for $2,800 for the school system.

Before the project is finished, a total of $12,000 will be given from Hood’s Market for this project. The rest will be paid by the Butler County Board of Education.

The camera system is anticipated to be installed before the students come back to in-person learning.
