Honoring All Who Served, Veteran Activities Planned

Veterans Day is Monday, November 11th, and several activities have been planned to honor our veterans:
- The Butler County Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will hold their annual breakfast on November 9, 2013 beginning at nine am in the Butler County High School Commons Area.All veterans are invited.
- The Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5837 will dedicate the new "Walls of Honor" Veterans Memorial on November 9, 2013. The program will begin at 11:30 AM at the Butler County Court House. In case of rain we will move to the Court room on the second floor of the court house.
- The Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5837 will hold their Veterans Day parade on Nov. 9, 2013. Line up at the Morgantown Elm. School will begin at 1PM. The Parade will begin promptly at 2 P.M. This parade is open to anyone that wants to show their support for our Veterans.The Veterans will be provided a ride.Let's make this a SPECIAL PARADE this year marking our 12th year. This parade was began the first Veterans Day after the attack on the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. and the Patriots on the United Airlines Flight 93 went down in the field in Pennsylvania.
- The Green River Chapter DAR Veterans Day Program will be held at Morgantown Elementary this Saturday, November 9, 2013, following the Parade at 2PM. Green River Chapter Veteran of the Year isCecil J. Embry.
- The Annual Butler County Salutes Our Veterans program will be held on Monday, November 11th at 9:00 A.M. in the Butler County High School Gymnasium. A reception to follow in the BCHS Library.
This is going to be a busy Veterans Day observance so take a few minutes of your time and show your support for the men and women who have served and sacrificed for this country
