This past Saturday, November 18th, Morgantown Square transformed into a winter wonderland as the city celebrated its highly anticipated Yearly Holiday Hoopla. Organized by the Morgantown City Council and Tourism Commission, the event drew in crowds from near and far, spreading joy and holiday cheer throughout the community.

The square was abuzz with activity, featuring a delightful array of carnival rides, vendors, enchanting reindeer, and the jolly presence of none other than Santa and Mrs. Claus. The Grinch and Cindy Lou Who added a touch of mischievous charm to the festivities, delighting both children and adults alike. One of the highlights of the evening was the generosity of the city, as over 100 gallons of hot chocolate and 60 pounds of popcorn were distributed to eager attendees.

The holiday spirit reached new heights as the square lit up with Christmas lights, creating a breathtaking display that illuminated the night. The crowning jewel of the evening was a mesmerizing drone light show that painted the sky with vibrant colors and intricate patterns. Spectators were captivated by the choreographed dance of lights, adding a modern and awe-inspiring element to the traditional holiday celebration.

The Yearly Holiday Hoopla is a collaborative effort, with the Morgantown City Council and Tourism Commission working tirelessly to create a memorable experience for residents and visitors alike. The event not only showcases the festive spirit of the season but also promotes community engagement and tourism in Morgantown.

Morgantown residents can now look forward to a season filled with joy, warmth, and the lasting glow of the holiday spirit.
