 In a town where burgers and sandwiches dominate the menus of most restaurants, Hillside Café and Steakhouse is crafting a niche by offering a  variety of steaks, barbeque, home cooking, and homemade desserts. The restaurant’s menu offers daily lunch and dinner specials.
“We are excited to be open, our hours are 11:00am-9:00pm, seven days a week, and later if we need to be open,” said Steven Phelps, owner.  We hope to get karaoke started on Saturday nights from 8:00pm till 1:00am.”
 Phelps brings over twenty years of cooking experience to the Hillside Café and Steakhouse.  He started in the kitchen at the original Hillside Restaurant owned by Darlene and the late Thorton Tomes.  
“I have always wanted to own my own restaurant and now I have the chance,” said Phelps. 

The ribbon cutting was hosted by the Morgantown-Butler County Chamber  on Tuesday, September 15th. Hillside Café and Steakhouse is located at 219 Veterans Way and their phone number is 270 288-5061 .  The restaurant has been totally remodeled. Stop by and see Steven and try the great yeast rolls and homemade desserts.

"It will take me a little bit to work the kinks out and get a great system but bare with me. I will be trying alot of new special's and will expand the menu soon. It will take lil time for me to try out a few kinds of steaks but I won't give up till I bring the best to Morgantown. Come try the new hand battered southwestern chicken tenders and dipping sauce they are great," said Phelps.
