Guthrie Announces 2015 Congressional Art Competition Winners
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) today announced Jacob Price of Bardstown as the First Place winner for Kentucky’s Second District in the 2015 Congressional Art Competition.
Price, a student at Nelson County High School, titled his artwork “Self-Ego.” His self-portrait is composed with graphite.
“As in years past, we received a tremendous amount of talented artwork from across Kentucky’s Second District,” said Congressman Guthrie. “Jacob should be very proud of his self-portrait and I look forward to welcoming Jacob to Washington, where he will soon be able to view his artwork on display in the U.S. Capitol Building.”
The winner and finalists were selected by an independent panel of art teachers across Kentucky’s Second District.
Ashton Garrison of Butler County High School was an indidividual county winner.
The Congressional Art Competition, which began in 1982, allows the winning pieces of art to be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for one full year.
