GT students take part in KY Youth Assembly

Brady Jones, Kobe Annis, Tyler Lynch, Delaney Daugherty, Camryn Newland, Nate Henderson, Annie Locke, and Bailey Collins.

Leslie Wood, Butler County teacher for Gifted and Talented, took eight students to Louisville for several days to learn how our state government works, and they participated in a mock assembly. They spent one day at the Capitol in Frankfort.

 Students attending included: Brady Jones, Kobe Annis, Tyler Lynch, Delaney Daugherty, Camryn Newland, Nate Henderson, Annie Locke, and Bailey Collins.

Nate Henderson was named Outstanding Delegate, and Brady Jones was an Outstanding Speaker.

Brady was invited to apply for the 2020 National Conference in North Carolina, where 25 students from Kentucky will meet with their peers to engage and develop critical thinking skills.

The students also received Premiere Delegate Status; this is the third year Leslie has taken students to the Assembly.
