Griffin and Gibbs participating in KHSAA State Fishing Tournament

Ty Griffin and Avery Gibbs head out for the first day of fishing in the KHSAA State Tournament

Butler County High School Bass Fishing team members, Ty Griffin and Avery Gibbs, two of the team's standout members, qualified for the Kentucky High School Atheltic Association state tournament. They are competing May 12 and 13 at Kentucky Lake with their boat Captain Jerry Gibbs.

Their hard work and dedication paid off in a big way this season, taking seventh place in the Regional Tournament.

The Bass Fishing team at Butler County High School has been making waves in the local fishing scene. The team, comprised of dedicated students and boat captains, has spent countless early mornings on the water, perfecting their skills and preparing for competitions.

BCHS Bass Team members include Clay Vincent, Blake Tomes, Jayden Jenkins, Duncan Tyree, Avery Gibbs, Ty Griffin, Harlie Embry, Luke Rowland, Hollis Cardwell, Kennedy Tucker, and Bryson Goodall.

The team's success has been a source of pride for the school and the local community. Fishing is a beloved pastime in the area, and the students' accomplishments have garnered attention and admiration from local anglers.

"We're so proud of our Bass Fishing team and the hard work they've put in this season," said Principal Stoye Young. "It's inspiring to see our students excel in all areas of their lives, and we can't wait to see what they'll accomplish in the future."
