Green Valley Vision
What does the Word of God mean to you? If it means everything to you then you must study it pretty often, right?! In other words, we surely make time to read it, study it, meditate on it, research it, connect it to other passages, and relate it to our lives. In John 6:66 when Jesus had challenged His disciples with the depth of understanding of who He was, many were not convinced and left Him. Jesus then asked the twelve if they would leave also. Peter in John 6:68 gave the only response anyone could: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. “Isn’t that where we are today?? No message is more insightful or soul saving than the eternal Word of God.
God’s Word is timeless!! 1st Peter 1:22-24 highlights the temporary and the eternal. Peter claims God’s Word lives and abides forever. Verse 25 says the Word “endures forever. “. How much of this eternal message of God do you know or want to know. It comes down to what you view as most important. Find five minutes to read. Then really think or meditate on it. What do I learn? How can I use it? How will that message help me to serve and travel toward Heaven?
What do you, your kids and your grandchildren need most? Besides you and deep love, they need God’s Word to guide them to Heaven. Amen? Of course. That is ultimately loving them. Study with them at home, read the Bible to them, take them to Bible class. You send them to school-maybe 6 hours a day. Don’t begrudge them of that extra 40 minutes of Bible study within the church. each week. They need it. We all need it. See you soon. In Him, Kenny
