Green Valley Vision

It may not seem like we are at times. But, we are. Blessed, that is. It takes perspective for us to realize in our lives that others hurt as much as we do, only in different ways. The Bible is clear to share with us that all of us encounter hardship as well as good things or blessings. And, sometimes our hardship can be the very thing we needed to get us closer to God just like Paul discussed in 2 Corinthians 12:10.

But we do realize that people suffer in unbelievable ways. For example, during the Winter Storm children lost their parents and parents lost their young children. Some people froze to death and others starved. Millions endured without electricity and prayed for the end to the cold and ice. Homes were flooded and destroyed.  In comparison, we may have had it much better in many ways. We are blessed materially, but better than that, we are greatly blessed  if we are in Jesus and living for Him.  Ephesians 1:3 says, “ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. “

Catastrophes will barge into all of our lives, some much worse than others.  Some will be unbearable and overwhelming.  Some will seem impossible to overcome. Our hearts reach out to all who suffer and whose lives will never be the same. But, the real consolation is found in a life given over to Jesus in obedience.  Spiritual blessings are the greatest blessings even amidst turmoil. In Him, Kenny
