Green Valley Vision

“Oh no!  I forgot to pay a bill. “. If you pay bills, even on a timely basis, you have probably, due to distraction, and just life, forgotten to pay a bill. What happens?  You probably get a past due statement. Don’t pay it, and you might lose services, as with an electric bill.

People get that with earthly obligations, but lose brain cells when it comes to spiritual matters. If you are past due praying, you probably don’t even notice after 4 or 5 days that you didn’t pray at all. If you don’t reflect on God’s word regularly you lose the power that it can play in your life. And you will neglect the fact that you will die and one day stand in judgment before God.  Big oversight. A past due that can cost you your soul!

And don’t forget:  coming to worship God with the saints, every few times a year when you have had no health problems or obligations, is not fulfilling the command set forth in Hebrews 10:24-25. Go ahead and feel good about it while taking vacations, etc. But, past due will cost you.

2nd Timothy 1:7 says we are not given “a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind “.   Christians who become past due toward God may lose the benefits and blessings that are conditional to our fulfilling His expectations.  Wake up!  Quit trying to fool yourself!!  You are not fooling God. Wipe out your past dues and get current. Amen.   In Him, Kenny
