Green Valley Vision

YIELD. WATCH. BE CAREFUL. BE CAUTIOUS.  You know the drill if you are driving and see a Yield sign in your path.  If you are merging into traffic you yield to incoming vehicles. That means you Submit to them, give them the power over you, as you should, and Be Careful. If you don’t a crash may be inevitable. Same with God. We must Yield to Him.

In Romans 6:16 (KJV) we read, “Do you not know that to whom you Yield yourselves servants to obey, His servants you are to whom you obey, whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness?”  In other words:  we serve somebody, and there is a price to pay.  We must yield, give ourselves up to God and His Word.  He demands our attention and complete obedience. In life when there are distractions we keep our eyes on the Lord and yield to His Will, not temptations or unfaithful influences.  Yield to your Maker on this road we travel daily.

As we Yield, we must Present  our bodies and lives to God. They belong to Him. He made us. He gave the greatest sacrifice for us. We owe that to Him. In Romans 12:1-2 it proclaims:  “I beseech you therefore, brethren by the mercies of God that you Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world…”.   We must offer all we have to our Heavenly Father and refuse to become like the world.

We must Yield, Present, and Glorify God in our speech and actions. 1 Corinthians 6:20 says, “For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” We must never choose to dishonor God and the values that we stand for. Too many people make bad decisions and pay a terrible price for it, both here and eternally.  We belong to God.

As we travel through life we are faced with many challenges.  Choose to yield to the One who created you and loves you. You will be so glad you did. In Him, Kenny
