Green Valley Vision

It might be one of the most unusual and untrue statements in all of American society. It is found on our paper money, on our coins, on buildings, and on vehicle license plates. In fact, today as I was pulling into a lane of traffic I watched a big truck come across from the other side and came close to me, not far from hitting my car. It’s a good thing I was watching because he wasn’t.  I noticed his license plate included “In God we trust”.  Wow!  I sure didn’t trust him, and he was from Florida so he didn’t know our roads and turns. I wondered if he really believed what he advertised.

We spend money with that statement noticeably printed on it:  In God we Trust. But, do we?  I mean, a nation of people proclaim trust in God, but do they really mean it?  Do Christians really mean it when they say it?  What does it mean to trust in God?  Counting on Him, believing in His promises, and knowing without a doubt that He will get us through each day and all of our tomorrows.   Ist Peter 5:7 says, “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you “. Trusting God with your all of your  hurts and your victories.

I absolutely love Proverbs 3:5-6. It is one of my favorite passages. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path. “.  We must place our complete confidence and trust in our Father.  Some times we don’t know where our lives will end up at times, but we know if we fully believe in God and obey His will, He will get us to where we need to go. It is His providence that is so exciting and worthy of our complete attention and trust. He will work it out and make it happen.

Psalm 9:10 claims, “And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For you, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You. “.  May we be true to what we see proclaimed daily:  In God we trust. Do we?  Are we consistent?  Are we really trusting in God. In Him, Kenny
