$10,000 catfish top prize

Anglers braved tough weather conditions on Friday morning, June 26, as the Green River Catfish Classic got underway.  By the end of the 3-day tournament on Sunday, a total of 27 tagged catfish were caught.

There are 141 tagged catfish totaling $44,000 in prize money.  The $10,000 tagged catfish, sponsored by the Morgantown-Butler County Chamber of Commerce, is the top prize.  Those fishing will also be competing for the largest overall catfish, a prize for the largest youth catch, and more.  All tagged fish are a minimum of $100.

The following individuals have caught tagged catfish:  Kurt Cox, Jeff Raymer, Vic Coots, George Elmore, Jody McKinney, A.J. Woosley, Austin Burden, Kendall Embry, Alvin Dockery, Corey Burden (2 fish), Wayne Embry, Donnie Cox, Stephanie Orange, Derek Crowder, Tim Thomas, Michael Orange, Vincent Baize, Susan Baize, David Carathers, Chad Cox (2 fish), Garrett Phelps, Jessica Cox, Josh Porter,Tanner Shain, Brayden Tomes.
