Grandparent Essay Contest

Nolan Suiter and Grandmother Tina Flener
Nolan Suiter, a fifth-grade student at Morgantown Elementary, was recognized at the Butler County Retired Teachers meeting for his winning Grandparent essay.
Nolan wrote about his grandmother, Tina Flener. He nominated her for the greatest grandparent of all time because, according to Nolan, she is the “most selfless person in the world.” He explained that she cooks for the family, supports them during the holidays, and cares for them despite being on oxygen.
“She provides emotional support after sports losses, including comforting words and ordering pizza,” said Nolan. She calls after every game to offer encouragement and secretly cleans our house to help the family.
Nolan’s essay was very heartfelt and personal, emphasizing love and gratitude for his grandmother.
He is the son of Matt and Tamra Suiter of Morgantown.
Nolan received a framed copy and a gift certificate.
