Goodall competing for a van and needs your vote!

Hi, my name is Sasha RayAnn Goodall. I am 23-years old and I live in Morgantown, KY. On July 27th, 2012 I was a passenger involved in a car accident. Little did me or my family know how our world would change from this moment on. Our lives were turned upside down. I was airlifted to Vanderbilt Hospital where we received the devastating news that I had obtained a spinal cord injury from the collision. We were told that I was a C-6 incomplete, which meant I would never have movement below my injury.

This wasn’t the news I wanted to hear as I was a junior attending college to be a speech pathologist. Basically, my life had just fallen out from under me, but I am a very strong-willed individual and decided at that point I wasn’t going give my life up just because I was now a quadriplegic. I had to move back in with my parents so my mom could be my 24-hour caregiver.

I have learned a lot from this terrible experience. One, never think life is always going to be what you want it to be but always remember to keep moving forward in a positive manner. Secondly, I learned to treat people with respect and compassion and not take any moment for granted. Thirdly, I learned what an amazing mom I had because she dropped everything to care for me. She fights this battle with me every step of the way! I would be lost without her. Lastly, I learned to treat everyone equally no matter their disability or situation. Even though this situation has changed my life for the worst, it has brought out a lot of good as well.

I look at life in a whole different lens, I now appreciate life for what it is and I’m not going to let this chair stop me! I inspire and teach others to realize we with disabilities can still live a beautiful life. This van would mean so much to me and my family. We travel a lot for therapy and doctors visits in Nashville, TN. It would be a blessing to have a reliable van that I could be comfortable in. Please vote for me xoxo!
