GIRLS' HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL : Butler County falls to Cumberland County

BURKESVILLE — Butler County couldn't battle back from behind as Cumberland County won 55-40 in a girls' high school basketball game on Friday, Dec. 1.

Following the loss, Butler County dropped to 1-1.

Butler County and Cumberland County met for a non-district matchup.

Freshman center/forward Ava Wilson scored 14 points to lead the Lady Bears. Wilson was the only Butler County player to reach double figures in the scoring column.

The additional scorers for Butler County in the non-district game were Karrington Hunt (six points), Maddie Jones (five points), Taylor Leach (four points), Ann Marie Skaggs (four points), Parker Willoughby (four points) and Addison Miller (three points).

Butler County and Cumberland County aren't scheduled to meet again in the 2023-24 girls' high school basketball season.

The Lady Bears entered the weekend set to visit LaRue County for another non-district game at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2.
