Lady Bears defeat Glasgow  56-42

MORGANTOWN — Returning to the win column, Butler County defeated Glasgow 56-42 on Monday, Jan. 8.

After registering the win over Glasgow, Butler County evened its record to 8-8. 

Starting strong, Butler County outscored Glasgow 16-6 in the first quarter.

Butler County held on to lead 24-22 at halftime. 

Extending its lead back out, Butler County led Glasgow 40-29 at the end of the third quarter. 

Butler County shot 39.1 percent (18-of-46) from the field. The Lady Bears made two of five three-point field goal attempts. 

Butler County shot 64.3 percent (18-of-28) from the free throw line. 

Ann Marie Skaggs and Ava Wilson each scored 16 points to lead the Lady Bears. Both Skaggs and Wilson recorded a double-double. Skaggs grabbed 11 rebounds while Wilson secured 10 rebounds. 

Accompanying Skaggs and Wilson in double figures for Butler County, Taylor Leach netted 12 points.

Chipping in offensively, Bailey Moore (six points), Parker Willoughby (three points) and Addison Miller (three points) provided Butler County's additional scoring.

 

Butler County 61, Caverna 34: Butler County rolled past Cavera 61-34 on Saturday, Jan. 6. 

Ann Marie Skaggs scored 11 points to lead Butler County to the impressive win. 

Finishing directly behind Skaggs, Taylor Leach and Ava Wilson netted 10 points apiece for Butler County in its convincing victory. 

As part of a diverse offensive attack, 11 players scored in Butler County's win. The other scorers for Butler County were Parker Willoughby (eight points), Addison Miller (five points), Maddie Jones (five points), Carley Cardwell (four points), Karrington Hunt (two points), Lilli Lessing (two points0, Jenna Tomes (two points) and Bailey Moore (two points). 

 

Adair County 58, Butler County 49: Butler County couldn't battle back from behind as Adair County prevailed to win 58-49 on Saturday, Jan. 6.

Ava Wilson scored 17 points to lead the Lady Bears. Accompanying Wilson in double figures for Butler County, Ann Marie Skaggs netted 11 points.

Seven different players provided scoring for Butler County in the matchup. The additional scorers for Butler County were Bailey Moore (seven points), Taylor Leach (five points), Parker Willoughby (four points), Karrington Hunt (three points) and Addison Miller (two points).
