DID YOU KNOW? One unspayed dog and her offspring can lead up to 97,000 dogs in 7 years. One unspayed cat and her offspring can result in 420,000 cats in 7 years. And one unneutered male is all it takes for population explosion.

To help curb this overpopulation, “Friends of Butler County Animals” is giving away 15 spay/neuter vouchers for Pit Bull & Pit Bull Mix Breeds. “Friends” chose pit bull mix breeds since those are the most unwanted and euthanized dogs at shelters and, since spring, “Friends” has fixed over 90 public cats and dogs.

Vouchers will be offered on a first-come/first-serve basis starting at 9am on Monday, October 28. Stop by or call the BC Animal Shelter (463 Boat Factory Rd, Morgantown, 270-526-2694) to schedule your dog’s appointment. There will be a $10 fee per dog (fee includes transportation to the Fix Foundation in Franklin). All you have to do is drop off/pick up dog your dog at the Shelter on your scheduled day. Proof of rabies required or vaccination will be administered for an additional $10.
