Gary earns Degree, becomes State Licensed, and National Certified

Micheal B. Gary has an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Funeral Service and Mortuary, became licensed to practice embalming in the state of Kentucky and also earned his National Board Certification.

Michael B. Gary Jr. graduated from Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham, AL, with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Funeral Service and Mortuary Science in December of 2015. Gary took his state board exam in Louisville, KY and became licensed to practice embalming in the state of Kentucky in March of 2016. In addition to being state licensed, Gary also earned his National Board Certification in December of 2015.

Michael began his career in funeral service at the Jones Funeral Chapel in June of 2006, and became a licensed Funeral Director in 2009. The Jones family is proud of the accomplishments Michael has made since 2006 and look forward to watching him continue his journey in funeral service for many years to come.

According to the Jones family, “We don’t have any staff at Jones Funeral Chapel. Michael is a part of our family and strives on a daily basis to continue the legacy and heritage that has been laid before us all. We believe Michael has a bright future here at Jones Funeral Chapel and adds a lot of value to not only Jones Funeral Chapel, but to Jones Monument Co. and Jones Burial Service.”

“It is my goal to be the best I can be to the families we have the privilege of serving and to continue the excellence in service that I have learned from the Jones family,” says Gary.

Michael is married to Katie Kirby Gary, the daughter of Bobby and Annette Kirby, and together they have one son, Henry. Michael is the son of Mike Gary and Penny Jenkins Bont and he is the grandson of Charles B. and Juanita Gary and Jarald and Beulah Jenkins.
