Butler County High School's Gage Beasley, a junior on the BCHS track team, won the State Championship in the Class 2A 300m hurdles.  The KHSAA Track & Field State Championships for Class 2A was held on Friday, June 2, at Lexington.

Beasley had previously finished as runner-up in regional competition.

"Gage is a great kid with an unwavering belief in himself," said BCHS track coach Andy Fuller.  "He is proof that with hard work and determination anything is possible.  He is the true definition of a state champion."

According to assistant track coach Steven Lindsey, Beasley's title is the first outdoor state champion in track and field since 1980.
