A local program designed to help feed food insecure students on the weekends has received a $2,234 donation due to the efforts of a local church.  Morgantown Community Church recently partnered with the Morgantown Mission to help raise funds for the Mission's Backpack Program.  Specifically, a fundraising raffle has taken place at the church over the last several weeks.  Local artists prepared and donated several items that have been on display at MCC.  Items included a custom-made bench swing, collectibles, furniture, a yard bench, various art pieces, as well as several other items.  MCC members Gail Smrtic and Donna Meirer coordinated the event. Participants purchases tickets for items and were put in a raffle-style drawing.  Winners were revealed on Saturday, October 7.

"MCC has partnered with the Morgantown Mission and Feeding America for several years now, and it's been an important partnership for the more than 120 Butler County children that we are able to serve each week," said MCC Senior Pastor Josh Scott.   "We've also been fortunate to have partnership with other local churches who've donated funds as well. When a community comes together for the larger purpose of loving and caring for others, then all sorts of goodness becomes possible."
