Freeman named Assistant Principal at BCMS

Tim Freeman

Butler County Middle School has a new assistant principal.  BCMS Principal Robert Tuck announced last week that Tim D. Freeman has been named assistant principal at the school.  Freeman is actually replacing Tuck, who was hired earlier this summer as the school's new principal.  Tuck took over for Jeff Jennings, who was hired as principal at North Butler Elementary.

Freeman, who has an undergraduate degree from Cumberland University and a Masters' Degree from Western Kentucky University, will be leaving an administrative position at the Butler County Alternative School.  As director of instruction at the alternative school, Freeman's responsibilities included basic curriculum instruction, enformcement of discipline and dealing with court issues relative to students, among many other duties.  He also has a background in special education.

Freeman's responsibilities as assistant principal at the middle school will be diverse and include maintenance, transportation, athletics, scheduling, student attendance, discipline issues, special education, school safety, and teacher and staff evaluations, among many others.  Of those duties, Tuck believes Freeman's experience and strength in student discipline issues will be an asset to the middle school.

"We had several good candidates apply but we felt that Mr. Freeman had the right qualities and was the best overall fit for the assistant principal position at BCMS," said Tuck.  "I look forward to working with him, as well as all faculty and staff, to continue moving our school forward."

Freeman will assume responsibilities immediately as the first day of school for students is set for August 9.
