FISCAL COURT: Woodbury Dam - remove completely or let it be?
Butler County Fiscal Court met on Monday, June 9, at the courthouse. All magistrates were in attendance: Stevie Givens, Kevin Phelps, Allen Smith, David Whittinghill, and Dillon Bryant.
The hot topic of the meeting was the discussion regarding the removal of the Woodbury Dam and a portion of the lock wall. Lee Andrews, Kentucky field supervisor for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, participated in the meeting by phone. Andrews asked for permission to use the land surrounding the dam for equipment and material storage.
The county owns all the land surrounding the dam. Magistrates expressed concerns about erosion with the removal of the dam and wall. When asked by Magistrate Dillon Bryant why the dam should be removed, Andrews said it was a safety issue and served no purpose. The court took no action on the matter and requested that Andrews attend a fiscal court meeting.
The court approved payment to R&R Electronic of $650 per month to switch courthouse emails from .com to .gov addresses.

The court approved the following additional items:
