Fiscal Court moves forward with Woodbury RV Park on a 4-1 vote

Butler County Fiscal Court met on Monday, March 28, at the courthouse. All magistrates were present.

After approving the minutes from the March 14 meeting, the Court reviewed bids for the proposed Woodbury RV Park:


–Deweese Concrete:

14 Concrete Pads $42,000.00

14 Gravel Camper Pads $9,800

Total $51,800 .00


–Green River Equipment Leasing:

36' X 64'10' Pole Barn with ceiling and lights $57,168.77

30'X30' Concrete Solid Wall Restroom $138,553.00

14 Camper Pedestals $51,777.00

Total $247,498.77


Overall Project Cost:

Deweese Concrete $51,800.00

Green River Equipment Leasing $247,498.77

Water Line installation $10,000.00

Total $309,298.77

Grant $106,612.88

County Cost $202,685.89

Budgeted $107,000.00

Leaving $95,685.89 to be paid by the county.


After a lengthy discussion, the Court voted to approve the bids and project on  a 4-1 vote, with Fourth District Magistrate David Whittinghill voting no.

Whittinghill stated that he did not think there was enough information in the quotes.

Next, Ruby Fooks from the Butler County Animal Shelter addressed magistrates requesting additional funding. According to Fooks, the cost of everything has gone up -  from supplies to fuel. Currently, the county gives the Animal Shelter $7,000.00 per month to operate. Fooks asked for $7,700. The Court took no action and said they would address the request at the contract renewal.

Fooks asked for $3,000 from the Gilstrap Fund to buy the county and city police scanners to scan chipped animals. Her request was granted.

 

Heather Stockstill from the Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center spoke to the Court about their services and stated they had served 65 children from Butler County last year. The Court approved the annual $1,500 donation to the center.


Judge-Executive Tim Flener cleared up a motion from the last meeting concerning the raise for the jail employees. According to Judge Flener, he read the motion as $2 per hour now, and it was approved.

Third District Magistrate Timmy Givens said his motion was for $2 now and $2 more starting July 1. Judge Flener said that was not the motion approved.

·         $25,000 transfer from General Fund to Jail Fund

·         MOA contract with Caves Region

·         Agreement for Voting Equipment Reimbursement

·         The hiring of Peercy & Gray CPA for Audit FY22

·         Purchase of battery backups for E-911 R & R Electronics, $2,330

·         2nd Reading and adoption of Ordinance #92021003 FY 22

·         2nd Reading and adoption of Ordinance #2022-02 Green River Regional Jail

·         Resolution BRADD Multi-Jurisdictional Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

 ·         Resolution 2022 County Strategic Plan
