Fiscal Court: Budgets, Litter Abatement, and Ambulance Board

The Butler County Fiscal Court met on Monday night at the Butler County Courthouse.  Isabella Embry led the Pledge of Allegiance to open the meeting. 
Butler County Clerk Sherry Johnson presented her 2017 budget.  Projected receipts $3,346,177.12, disbursements $3,256,836.44, resulting in $89,340.68 in excess fees.  Pursuant to KRS 64.530(3) Johnson presented the maximum amount for deputies and assistants at $170,000.


Butler County Sheriff Scottie Ward presented his 2017 budget, reflecting projected receipts of $574,580 and disbursements of $574,580.   Pursuant to KRS 64.530(3) Ward presented the maximum amount for deputies and assistants at $345,000.  
Magistrates will review the budgets; no action was taken on Monday night.
The court approved a litter abatement payment to the Butler County Track Field of $571.30 and a transfer of $35,000 from the general fund to the jail fund. 
Third District Magistrate Chad Tyree asked the court to consider a sixth member to the Butler County Ambulance Board and recommended Don Jenkins. This request met with opposition from some in attendance.
