Fiscal Court Approves Land Purchase

The Butler County Fiscal Court held a special called meeting on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at 6:00pm at the Butler County Courthouse.  All members of the court were present along with Butler County Attorney Richard Deye and Butler County Sheriff Scottie Ward.
In the first order of business the court declared the Road Department Grader (1980 model CAT 120 G) as surplus property. Next, the court approved a resolution adopting the Barren River Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan Update as the official Hazard Mitigation Plan of Butler County.  They also approved a resolution to enter into an agreement with the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security (KOHS) for a grant for repeaters.

The court then went into closed session (KRS 61.810 (1)(b)), to discuss a land purchase. After returning to open session, on a motion by Chad Tyree and a second by David Whittinghill the court voted 5-0 to purchase 21.3 acres, located on Hwy 70, by Exit 29 of the Natcher Parkway, jointly with the Morgantown Industrial Holding Cooperation.  The total purchase price is $500,000.00, which will be shared with the City. The land is owned by Osco Bratcher and Donald Ray.  The court then adjourned.
