Fire destroyed a barn and its contents Wednesday morning.  Firefighters from the Morgantown, 4th District, and 5th District volunteer fire departments were dispatched a little after 7:00 a.m. to 149 Bodge Bratcher Road, off Old Ethel School Road to the property of Dianna Cardwell.  When fire units arrived, the barn was engulfed and already on the ground.  A tractor was inside the barn and exploded during the fire.

Brenda Miller, who lives on the property and is the sister of Dianna Cardwell, told Beechtree News "I was awake until 3:00 a.m., everything was fine.  A little after 6:00 I heard an explosion, looked out and the barn was on fire."

The all clear was given at 7:53 a.m.  There were no injuries.  The barn and the tractor were a total loss.
