Filing deadline is over; ballot is set.
The deadline is over, and the ballot is set for the November election. On the November ballot, in addition to high-profile races for the U.S. Senate and U.S. President, will be several local offices.
Rochester and Woodbury will elect a mayor and city council/commission positions. Morgantown will elect six city council positions. Morgantown Mayor Billy Phelps will be up for reelection in two years.
Current Morgantown City Council members Russell Givens, Ronald Givens, Sharon G. Johnson, Gary Southerland, and Dionne Cannon Merritt have filed for reelection; newcomers Harold Todd Meredith, Dustin Embry, Sterling White, and Jason Gaskey have also filed for City Council.
Four spots are up on the Soil Conservation Board; David Newton, Shane Wells, and Darren Rice.
The Butler County Board of Education has three seats open: First District, nobody filed, Second District- Deborah A. Hammers, and Fifth District- Ryan P. Daugherty.
