Fatal Accident on Natcher Parkway

UPDATED:The accident is still under investgation. Robin Smith,53, is currently at Vandy Medical Center in Nashville.  According to offiicals they believe she was the passenger in the vehicle. Lavinia Hope Peters,44, did not survive the accident.  Lawson Laster of Lewisburg was the diriver of the car that was rear ended by James Hawkins of Graham, who was driving for Howard Trucking, LLC of Calhoun, Kentucky.

A single vehicle accident on Tuesday afternoon has claimed the life on one lady and sent another to the hospital.  Around 12:42pm the driver of a SUV traveling northbound on the Natcher Parkway  loss control of her vehicle, went off the left side of the road, appeared to over correct and went off the right side of the road before overturning several times.  According to Butler County Sheriff Scottie Ward the female driver and female passenger were both ejected from the vehicle.  The SUV came to a stop in the southbound lane of the Natcher near the Warren County line.  Both ladies were air lifted from the scene. The names have not been released both ladies were from the Daviess County area.

In a related accident a car driven by a man from Lewisburg, Kentucky, slowed down to view the accident in the northbound lane and was rear ended by a dump truck.  He was taken to the Medical Center in Bowling Green.

Both lanes of the Natcher were shut down.  They have since reopened. Responding were: Butler County Sheriff Scottie Ward, Deputies Heath West and Chris Reneer, Butler County EMS, Morgantown Fire Department, Air Evac, Butler County Rescue Squad, Morgantown Chief of Police Sweeny and Officer Deweese.
