Fatal Accident on Natcher Involves Morgantown Residents

A three vehicle accident on Natcher Parkway leaves Morgantown woman dead. Kathenia Williams,61 was pronounced deceased at the scene at approximately 3:40 pm by Deputy Coroner John White with Warren County Coroners office. She was a passenger in the a vehicle driven by Lanny Williams.

According to the Kentucky State Police the accident happened at approximately 2:58 pm Sunday afternoon at the 10 mile marker. A 2007 Nissan driven by Logan Keeney, 17, of Bowling Green, was traveling south on Natcher Parkway when he lost control of his vehicle and crossed into the north bound lanes. He then hit two other vehicles head-on.

The first vehicle struck was a 2002 Buick driven by Lanny Williams, 63, of Morgantown, and the second was a 1999 Toyota driven by Billy Byrd, 58, of Morgantown.

Keeney was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Lanny Williams was taken to Greenview Regional Hospital. Billy Byrd and his passengers, Nancy Bryd 56, Jason Byrd, 20, were not injured.

All of those involved in the crash were wearing seat belts. Trooper Larry Davis is leading this investigation which is still ongoing.

Trooper Davis was assisted at the scene by Troopers John Holbrook, Chad Smith and Lt. Shannon West, Barren River Fire Department, Warren County Coroners office, Air Methods, Medical Center Ambulance service and Rescue Three with the Bowling Green Fire Department.
