Farms with over 1320 Gallons of Fuel and Oil Storage Must Have SPCC Plan

Farm Fuel Storage Facility

Farms with over 1,320 gallons of above ground fuel and oil storage must have a Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures plan.  This is a regulation that is part of the clean water act.  Dr. Doug Overhults, from the UK College of Agriculture, will be at the Extension Service and Farm Bureau Field day on September 5th to discuss the issue and answer farmer's questions.  The Extension Field Day is September 5th at 4:00 p.m. and begins at the Banock Masonic Lodge.  The lodge is on Dexterville Road in northwest Butler County.  Most of the field day stops are on the Daugherty farm.  There is no charge to attend the field day and supper will be provided when it is over.

For more information, contact the Butler County Extension Office at 112 E GL Smith Street, Morgantown, or call 270-526-3767.

Educational programs of the Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service serve all people regardless of race, color, age, sex, religion, disability, or national origin.
