Extension New: NEP Assistant, Michele Moore, Promoted to Senior Assistant

Michele Moore, Butler County Extension Nutrition Education Program Assistant, has been promoted to a Senior Assistant.

Michele has been employed with the University of Kentucky since April 6, 2015.  In her position, she provides nutritional education to Butler County residents.  Michele not only conducts nutritional meetings at the Extension Office, but also teaches throughout the community.  While COVID has caused some changes, nutritional classes are still being conducted virtually and in-person, following distancing guidelines.

Michele is married to Michael Moore and has two daughters, Madeline and Ellie.  She has grown up in Butler County and is very proud of her accomplishments and her family.  She enjoys working for the University of Kentucky and says, “UK is not only my employer, it is part of my family.”  Both daughters also attend the University of Kentucky.  Maddie is a UK graduate and Ellie is currently a Junior with the university.

Michele states, “The thing I love most about being a Nutrition Education Program Assistant is being part of an institution that works for the betterment of the community that I love, Butler County.  My job allows me to be an educator and a friend.”

As a Senior Assistant, Michele will become more involved in the community as a collaborator and will establish partnerships with more community-based organizations.  Her promotion will also allow her more hours to offer nutritional classes and information to individuals and groups throughout the community.

“I really want to thank Butler County and the University of Kentucky Nutrition Education Program for allowing me to serve such a great community,” Michele concludes.
