Eric Hatcher: Praying Still Works

A Healing Is For You- Mark 5:25-26 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse.
First thing I want to say is if people were healed in Bible days then it can happen even today. Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

In no way are my intentions to disrespect doctors. I simply want to encourage someone that Jesus Christ is still a healer and can heal your every need even when the doctor says there is no hope. Maybe you are someone who just received news that your condition is not good, that it’s terminal or that it’s going to get worse. Don’t give up. There’s a God who created the heavens and earth; and healed the most sick of the sick, not to mention raised a dead man. If he can do all that, how hard is it to heal your sickness? He is the one that created this body, so why not give him a chance because that is what the lady did in the book of Mark.
The Bible talks about a certain lady who had an issue of blood. This lady had a disease and dealt with this disease for a long time, in fact for twelve years - just like life deals us a hard hand sometimes and we may have to endure a condition for awhile. Notice the courage of this lady. She keeps going and she keeps looking for help with her problem. No doubt she had become tried, angry, desperate and frustrated in those twelve years. At times she felt lonely and left out by her friends and family but Jesus said “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” No matter what you’re dealing with Jesus is there. This same verse applies to you and your needs.

We also read where this lady suffered many things and spent all she had. It can be frustrating and depressing to have tests done, surgeries, and take lots of medications, still with no answer.  The doctor bills can really start to add up and yet there is still no relief from your disease. Your condition could very well be the same story as this lady.

Mark 5:27-28 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

She had heard of Jesus! Have you heard of Jesus? Could it be somewhere a long your journey you forgot that Jesus Christ died for not just your sins but also to heal you? Isa 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. I Peter 2:24 …by whose stripes ye were healed. Notice in the Old Testament we are healed but in the New Testament ye were healed. The lady with an issue of blood knew she would be healed if she just touched Jesus.

Could I suggest that if you are at the end of your rope, with no hope in your future for your sickness, and looking for some relief; you need to come in touch with Jesus by having faith like this lady. There is a healing for you if you will have faith; and believe your sickness shall be healed. Jesus will do it just as he did for a mother of a family in our church. A real life example: She had three clogged arteries going to her heart. This lady prayed to God for a healing, our church prayed, and our pastor prayed by laying of hands calling on Jesus. As the day approached to have the surgery she felt as if she did not want to go through with it. She decided to have the surgery and as they took one last x-ray they found that she had new veins that were routed around the clogged ones. Doctors said she did not need surgery and that her heart and arteries were just fine. This is a healing that just took place within the last month and not just in the Bible days. So don’t think healings are for Bible days or back in yesterdays? I am here to tell you it happens in 2012 and it can happen for you.

This was inspired by Pastor Paul Uzzle Jr. and Bro Wayne Clements. If you are in need of a healing and would like someone to pray for you, please email [email protected] or you are welcome to attend a service at Nelson Pentecostal Church in Central City, KY and we would be happy to pray for your need.
