Emmick, Henderson honored with coach & player-of-the-year awards

BCHS Head Coach Ryan Emmick and football standout Rex Henderson

Butler County football quarterback standout Rex Henderson won Class 2A, District 2 Player of the Year. Butler County head football coach Ryan Emmick won Class 2A, District 2 Coach of the Year.

The District Coach and Player of the Year awards are voted on by the head coaches of the Class 2A, District 2 teams - Butler, Hancock, McLean, Owensboro Catholic, and Todd County Central.
Henderson is the first District Player of the Year in school history. Coach Emmick follows in the footsteps of former Butler County Head Coach Robert Tuck, who won District Coach of the Year in 2008. Coach Emmick and Coach Tuck are the only coaches in school history to win district coach-of-the year honors in football.

Henderson and Emmick were honored on Sunday, December 4, during halftime of the Class 2A Championship Game held at Houchens Stadium on the WKU campus.
