Embry selected as Murray State University's 2016 Outstanding Senior Woman

Madison Embry was selected as Murray State University’s 2016 Outstanding Senior Woman for the spring commencement.

Madison Embry was selected as Murray State University’s 2016 Outstanding Senior Woman for the spring commencement.  Along with Outstanding Senior Man, this is the highest honor MSU can bestow on one of their graduating seniors.  Embry will be giving one of the valedictions during graduation on May 14th. 

Madison Embry will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting this spring. She currently has a 3.97 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Embry began her college career at Murray State University after receiving the Governor’s Scholar full tuition scholarship. Since then, she has received additional scholarships as well as the Hamilton/Ernst & Young Fund for Excellence in Accounting. Her leadership responsibilities have included serving as chaplain and finance assistant officer of Alpha Delta Pi, Community Group Leader at the BCM (Baptist Campus Ministry) and a first-year leader for the MSU Division of Student Affairs. She was a member of Clark College and Honors College from 2012–14.

Her community involvement includes tutoring for business students and volunteer work at the Ronald McDonald House, First Baptist Church, Needline and The Way Youth Center. She has also provided income tax assistance for Murray community members.

Embry has held internship positions at BKD and Raptor Petroleum and has worked as a cashier for Murray State University Dining Services. Once she receives her degree, she plans to obtain her CPA license and pursue a tax career at a public accounting firm.
