Dustin "Hog" Embry: Candidate for Morgantown City Council

Hello to the fine citizens of Morgantown:

My name is Dustin "Hog" Embry and I am running for re-election for the Morgantown City Council. With election day closing in, I wanted to write this letter and ask for your support in the upcoming election.

In case you don’t know me, I was born and raised here in Morgantown. I am the son of

David and Debbie (Amos) Embry and the grandson of the late Harold and Christine Embry, and Robert and Janice Amos. If any of you knew my Papaw Harold, you know he stayed up on politics and I was always right there with him. I spent most of my adult working career working in emergency services, which has taught me critical thinking skills and how to work under high pressure. I believe these skills have helped me thus far with my political career.

As I think of our current council, we each bring a unique and different outlook on things

and that is what makes us thrive like we have. We’ve been able with the support of our

community and City Hall staff to do so many things that have benefited our amazing City.

I would like to add some highlights of me personally that I’ve obtained since my time in

office. I have been awarded my Level 3- Master of City Governance from the Kentucky League of Cities. To my knowledge I am the only councilmember from Morgantown to obtain this. I’ve been bestowed the honor of being named a Kentucky Colonel. I’ve had the honor to serve on a state board by being selected by the Governor. The contacts I’ve made across the state I know will come in handy if questions arise on how to do something.

In closing, I would humbly ask for your vote to allow me to continue working for

Morgantown. I know deep down inside that we are only getting started. We have no limit to what we can do. I will be number #1 on the ballot, So remember me when you go and cast your votes.
