Drug arrests lead to possible narcotics ring in Butler County

13-year-old child present at residence; released to grandparents

-----

The arrest of two Bowling Green women on January 16 has revealed that possibly three individuals were working together to traffic narcotics into Butler County.

Rebekah Joyce English (DOB 12-23-87) and Brittany Nechole Baize (DOB 06-16-83) were arrested by Butler County Sheriff's Deputy Nathan Barks following the execution of a search warrant at a residence located at 1276 Petros Browning Road.  The search warrant was obtained as part of an on-going narcotics investigation.

According to the police report, several items were found during the search, including drug paraphernalia, a small clear jar of suspected methamphetamine, digital scales, as well as money and trace amounts of suspected marijuana.  Prior to the search, a traffic stop yielded an estimated 9.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Additionally, a 13-year-old child was present at the residence and was released to his grandmother.

Officers collected cell phone evidence that indicated several previous drug transactions.  English told officers that she had sold the methamphetamine from the traffic stop to pay for her vehicle tags and "that was the only narcotics that she had on her."  English further stated that she had nothing to do with any illegal activity that was occurring at the residence.

Based on probable cause established from cell phone evidence, officers believe that at least three individuals were working together to traffic narcotics into Butler County.

English is charged with engaging in organized crime, trafficking in a controlled substance (1st degree, 1st offense, meth), buying/possessing drug paraphernalia.

Baize is charged with engaging in organized crime, trafficking in a controlled substance (1st degree, 1st offense, meth), buying/possessing drug paraphernalia, trafficking in marijuana (1st offense).

Both were lodged in the Butler County Jail.
