Drug arrest made; weapon seized along with suspected meth, heroin, marijuana & hydrocodone

On February 19, around 10:16 p.m, Butler County Sheriff Deputies Nathan Barks and Joe Alford responded to a possible shooting.

The female victim, who was shot in the foot, was in a vehicle. Deputies found an estimated $2,600 cash in small denominations in the vehicle while attempting to locate the firearm. A search warrant was issued to locate the gun. A search of a rental cabin in Morgantown inhibited by Joshua Lee Brown, 37, of Owensboro, Ky, and his girlfriend (who was shot) yielded various drugs. She later stated the shot to her left foot was accidentally self-inflicted.

Seized from the cabin was an estimated 218 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, an estimated 5 grams of suspected Heroin, an estimated 9 grams of Marijuana, and an estimated 44 dosage units of Hydrocodone pills. Additionally, a .22 caliber semi-automatic Taurus handgun and small clear baggies were located.

Brown has prior felony convictions for drug trafficking and firearms possession.

He is lodged in the Butler County Jail and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree, 2nd or greater 2 grams, Methamphetamine; trafficking in a controlled substance 1st offense heroin; trafficking in Marijuana (less than 8 oz) 1st offense; and trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense, opiates.
